National Level Workshop on Digital Asset Management in Libraries – 13th April 2013 (Saturday)
Objectives
The objectives of the workshop are to enrich knowledge
about current technological updates in Digital Asset Management and effective
dissemination to the Library users. To ensure that the needs of the community
are accurately represented Digital Asset Management
refers to the protocol for downloading, renaming, backing up, rating, grouping,
archiving, optimizing, maintaining, thinning and exporting files. This workshop
would be a unique opportunity to develop and explore the digital libraries
using D-Space open source software.
Target Audience
The Workshop is aimed for the audience from
Library and Information Science Profession.
Registration Fee
Registration Fee: Rs.250/- per head. The
participants will be provided with a working lunch, refreshments and workshop
kit (includes essential course materials).
Participants are requested to send their
filled in registration form (Photocopy is also acceptable) to the Organizing
Secretary on or before 8th April 2013 along with
the Demand Draft. Seats are limited. Registration fee will be

About Conference:
The information age has made it possible for users to utilize information products and services in myriad formats at a high level. Users´ experiences in the electronic environment and collaborative information use make an impact on information products and services. With ‘Google generation’ information processing is mainly horizontal. Interactive revolution is a driving force for innovations in information seeking in libraries. Collaboration and community-based interactions, cognitive mapping and visualizations in the electronic environment help users make sense of information. Behavior patterns prove deep changes in information use in the electronic environment. With this background Library and Information Science professionals are need to have adequate knowledge of information product development and introduce novel and innovative services in e-environment.
Conference Theme:
“Information Products and Services in the e-Environment”
A Two day meet is planned with scheduled sessions between 9.00 am & 9.00 pm includes Talks, paper presentations by Faculty /LIS Professionals/ Research Scholars and Students.. This event is aimed at bringing together faculty, researchers, students and practitioners for open discussions and experiences focused on the practice of Library and Information Science and Informaton Technology and its applications to LICs
Call for Papers
Original contributions based on applications / deployments / research / surveys / practices related to the theme and sub themes mentioned, are invited for conference presentations and poster presentations. Based on technical committee’s recommendations, papers for the national conference shall be selected and published in the conference Volume (with ISBN Number). Registration for all authors is mandatory for paper presentation. All papers should be submitted through email only.
Guidelines for Submission of Papers:
1. Last Date of submission of full text paper on or before 5th April, 2013.
2. Acceptance of paper for presentation will be intimated to the Authors 10th April 2013.
3. In case of co-authors, correspondence will be sent to the first author only.
4. Accepted papers will be called for presentation and based on editorial Committee’s review.
5. Registration for all authors is mandatory for paper presentation.

Dear Professionals
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is organizing International Conference on Digital libraries (ICDL 2013) during 27-29 November 2013 at New Delhi. The conference will also aim at further strengthen the academic collaboration and strategic alliance in development of DL in the world. Theme of the conference is Vision 2020: Looking back 10 years and forging new frontiers.
In recent past TERI had organized three major ICDL conferences during 2004, 2006 and 2010 which were proved to be useful tools to bridge digital divide between developed and developing countries. Aim: ICDL 2013 is expected to be a major forum focusing on digital libraries and related technologies and issues. Paper submission guidelines and date
ICDL invites original papers typed on MS Word 2000. The word limit for each paper is 5000 words. All papers should be written in English for acceptance for presentation in the conference. Each submitted paper will be reviewed by a panel of experts and only well-researched and well-written papers will be accepted for presentation. It is expected that all accepted papers will be presented at the conference by the author(s).A few papers shall also be selected for the poster session presentation. The conference proceedings that will be distributed to the participants will include the selected papers (for presentation at the conference) and abstracts (selected for presentation in the poster session).
