PROJECT ASSOCIATE IN DST FUNDED RESEARCH PROJECT at Coimbatore, TN,
Starting in June 2013, the Department of Science and Technology Project Investigator (Dr. Saba Sarasvady) at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Coimbatore, TN, has a vacant position for a PROJECT ASSOCIATE in Scientometrics. This project intents to measure and map the knowledge transfer between India and other countries.
ELIGIBILITY
The potential candidates should have Masters in LIS or Computing Science with a sound statistical knowledge. Besides, the candidates should have NET/JRF qualification.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
We are looking forward to grow our team and welcome applications of highly motivated candidates with knowledge on Scientometrics who are willing to support our research efforts. The candidates should work in an environment which enables to map scientometric data in international setting. The project will lead to the birth of many reviewed research papers and cross-country collaboration.
We strongly encourage women candidates to apply. The candidates are expected to register for Ph.d under the supervision of the Project investigator.

Successful candidates will work at the university for a period of 18 months. Library Sector Vacancy:
Assistant Librarian - (2 Post ) Appointment to this post will be initially for a period of 3 years, extendable by another 2 years.
Pay Scale: Assistant Librarian: Rs.15,600 - 39,100 (PB-3) + AGP Rs.6000.
ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN Qualification:
1. A Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an
equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge
of computerization of library.
2. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency
approved by the UGC.
3. However, candidates who are or have been awarded Ph. D. degree in accordance with the
“University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D.
Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility
condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Librarian”.
Desirable: At Least 3 years experience of working in a University Library

The Central Library, College of Engineering Thalassery, Kerala is going to organize 5 Day Workshop on Open Source Software For Library Management (Latest Version of DSpace and Koha ILS) The objective of the Workshop is to provide training to Library and Information Professionals on Open Source Library Management Software’s to enable them to manage Library Automation and Digital Library. The Workshop is scheduled to be held from 03. 07. 2013 to 07. 07. 2013.
