BHU’s library to introduce electronic display board to provide information

VARANASI: The central library of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will now provide information of events organized in the university including seminars, conferences, lectures, information resources, electronic data base, philosophies and information about the prominent figures of the university, new arrivals in library and other current information with the help of an electronic display board kept in the library premises of BHU

According to university librarian, AK Srivastava, "the present scenario is witnessing an immense information overload and in this situation the library's step towards feeding information will help its readers know, search and utilize it. Library will also organize a user awareness programme in the new academic session to help students utilize the e-learning resources."

Building a separate cyber library for students to use e-learning resources with a capacity of over 200 computers is also in the pipeline. The library is already enriched with around 185 GB data in the form of audible study material meant for visually challenged students pursuing graduation, post graduation and research from the university
