Admission Notice for M. Phil course for the session 2012-14 

Applications are invited for two year  M. Phil. Course in: 

BENGALI  URDU    ANCIENT INDIAN HISTORY & CULTURE 

ENGLISH  COMMRECE   SOUTH &SOUTH EAST ASIAN STUDIES  

SANSKRIT  PHILOSHOPHY  EDUCATION   

PALI   HISTORY   WOMEN STUDIES                               

HINDI   POLITICAL SCIENCE

Eligibility: Any candidate who has passed the M.A./M.Sc./M.com. or equivalent 

Examination of this university with 55% marks in aggregate (S.C./S.T. with 50%marks)or 

With 60%marks in aggregate of any other recognized  University. Students who are 

taking M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Part-II Examination and or Final Semester Examination in the 

abovementioned subjects may also apply provisionally and sit for the admission test but 

their Final admission would depend on passing the examination obtained the required 

marks mentioned above. Candidates who have qualified NET, SET or any equivalent 

national level examination are exempted from the admission test, but not from the 

interview. Form: Application forms would be available at C.U. Sales Counter(College Street 

Campus) from 11 a.m. to 3p.m. on all working days(Monday to Friday ) on payment of 

Rs.465/-for form plus Rs.35/- for a copy of Brochure . 

Submission of forms : Completed Application forms except for Education , Library & 

Information Science and Women Studies will be received by the office of the Secretary, 

U.C.A.C, Collage street campus, Asutosh Building, Ground floor, Room No.3G between 

11.a.m. and 3 p.m. on all working days mentioned above. Forms for Education and 

Women’s Studies are to be submitted at the Alipur Campus, 1, Reformatory Street, 

Kolkata-700027. Forms for Library and Information Science are to be submitted to the 

concerned Department at Asutosh Building, 3rd

 floor within 12.10.2012. 

Reservation:  for S.C. , S.T, and differently -abled candidate will be  

made as per University/Govt. rules.                                                                                         

 Course Fees:  Rs. 4000/- to be paid in case by the selected candidates at the time of 

admission (except Library & Information Science).

                                                                                                                  U.C.A.C,C.U COURSE FEES for LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE :  a) RS. 625/- per month for nonsponsored students, b) Rs. 875/- per month for sponsored Indian students ( mod of 

payment as per rule for a and b ), c) US$ 1000/- or its equivalent for Foreign of NRI 

students (to be paid at the time of admission). [ Admission fee : Rs. 500/-, Library  fee Rs. 

200/- extra]. Mode of payment of Course Fee has been notified in the Notice Board of 

the office , Department of Lib. & Inf. Science.
