Filling up the post of Director General in National Library, Kolkata under Ministry of Culture on deputation/contract basis.

1. Applications are invited for appointment to the post of Director General in the revised Pay Band HAG Rs.67000-(annual increment @ 3%) - 79000/- General Central Service, (Group
'A') Gazetted, Ministerial in National Library, Kolkata under Ministry of Culture by deputation/contract basis.
Eligibility:-
(A) Deputation:- (Including short term contract) Officers under the Central Government or State Government or Union Territories or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or Recognized Research Institutions or Semi- Government or Statutory & Autonomous organizations.
(a)(i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in parent Cadre/Department
OR
(ii) With three years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in the Pay Band IV Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay of Rs.10,000 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department. And
(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience.
(i) Master's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
(ii) Fifteen years’ experience (including research work) in education or libraries or Archives or database Management out of which five years' experience shall be in administrative matter.
Desirable:
(1) Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Management from a recognized University/Institute or equivalent.
(2) Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in Library Sciences or Information Technology.
(B) On Contract Basis Persons possessing the qualifications and experience as at (a) and (b) above.
Note:- Appointment on contract basis shall be for a period of three years and may be extended subject to satisfactory performance and maximum age limit of seventy years.
2. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
3. The maximum age limit for appointment on contract shall not exceed 67 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
4. In case of appointment by contract, this will be governed by the terms and conditions decided by Government. -

Applications received after the last date or otherwise found incomplete will not be considered. The officers who apply for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their nomination subsequently.
