Bhai Gurdas library, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar(Punjab) is going to organise a two day National  Seminar sponsored by  ICSSR, on the theme “Information Technology Tools and Techniques in Social Science Research'' on May 23-24, 2014.

THEMES 

1. Knowledge collaboration and social media. 

2. Social networking and library services. 

3. Print and e- resources of any of the following subject: a. History b. Political Science c. Library and Information Science d. Sociology e. Economics f. Social Science 

4. Growth and measurement of Social Science literature. 

5. Collection development of Social Science literature. 6. Information use pattern by Social Scientists. 

7. Reflections of social conditions in Indian manuscripts. 

8. Library and Information Science curriculum in digital era. 

9. Impact of ICT on Social behaviour in India. 

10. Public Library acts in Northern India. 

11. Copyright or plagiarism or cyber laws. 

12. User study, needs and expectations in ICT environment. 

13. Role of librarians in managing digital libraries. 

14. Cloud computing or virtual library or mobile library.  

Paper submission guidelines: 

1. Length of the paper upto 5000 words, single space, 12 point font size, Times New Roman, MS-Word. 

2. Paper margin must be 1 inch on each side (Left, Right, Top, Bottom).  

3. Follow API style of reference for references and cited work. For more details click http://www.apastyle.org. 

4. Paper should mention Name/Names of author(s), addresses (postal and email) and mobile number. 

5. Paper should be based on original research. 

6. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN. 

7. Papers should be mailed to chopra_gndu@yahoo.com. 8. Most probably proceedings will be given on May 23, 2014. Note:  Participants are requested to follow the above mentioned instructions strictly.  Please send the article alongwith abstract of about 200 words through e-mail before April 15, 2014. Registration fee is Rs. 850/ which you can send by Demand Draft in the favour of “Registrar Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar”. Students, retired professionals and Research Scholars will have to pay Rs. 450 as registration fee. Registration fee will include tea, high tea, lunch, dinner and seminar kit.
