2nd American Library Association (ALA) Library  Conference at Sharjah International Book Fair 

The second American Library Association (ALA) Library Conference at Sharjah International Book Fair will 
take place 10-12, November  2015 at the Expo Centre Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The Three-day library conference will offer concurrent programs on a wide range of topics for librarians from research, public, academic, government and special libraries in the region, as well as from the US and 
other countries. The conference will be bilingual English-Arabic  and simultaneous translation is available. 

Topics to be on the conference program include: 

1. New trends and technologies 
2. eResources and managing virtual libraries 
3. Effective information literacy 
Staff development and continuing education 
4. Library and Student learning 
5. Outreach and promotion (increasing use of library services, engaging the community) 
6. Collection development 
7. Cataloging and classification with RDA: Resource Description and Access 
8. Proving the value of the library
