Post Description

Pay Scale	PAY SCALE Rs.9300-34800/- ( PB-2) plus Rs.46,00/- (Grade Pay) Total emoluments (excluding HRA CCA) at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 34000/- pm approximately.
Age	Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date.(Relaxable for Government servant up to five years in accordance with the instructions or order issued by the Central Government) Note- The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India ( and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Island or Lakshadweep)
Essential Qualificaiton (s)	A. EDUCATIONAL-ESSENTIAL (I) Bachelors Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a recognised University or institute. (II) Two years professional experience in a library under Central Government or State Government or Autonomous or Statutory organisation or Public Sector Undertaking or University or recognised Research or Educational institute. Note 1 Qualification is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 1 The qualification regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.
Desirable Qualificaiton (s)	(I) Masters degree in Library Science or Library and information Science of a recognized University or Institute. (ii) Diploma in Computer application from a recognized University or Institute.
Duty(ies)	Responsible for operation, maintenance and management of Institute Library. Assist in procurement of Books, periodical, Teaching, materials, planning and organizing of the Library, Information Centre, Exhibitions, Publication, Advertisement and publicity of Institutes activities, Technical processing of documents, Information and documentation service, Assist in administration work of the institute.
Probation	Two years.

Other Details	General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are permanent but initially to be filled up on temporary basis.
