Applications are invited in the prescribed proforma for filling up of one post of Director(Library) in the National Medical Library, Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in Level- 13 of the Pay Matrix (Rs.1,23,100 - 2,15,900) [PB-4 (Rs.37,400 - 67,000) with Grade pay of Rs.8700/- in pre- revised scale of pay] on promotion/deputation (including short- term contract) basis as under: 

Officers under the Central Government or State Govenments or Union territories or Universities or recognized Research Institute or Public Sector Undertakings or Statutory or Autonomous organization :- 

(A) (i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent Cadre/Department; or 

(ii) With five years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level-12 of the Pay Matrix (Rs.7,88,00 - 2,09,200) [PB-3 (Rs.15,600- 39,100) with Grade Payof Rs.7600/- in pre- revised scale of pay] or equivalent in the parent Cadre or Department; and 

(B) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience: 

Essential:- I. Master's Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised university or institute; 

II. Twelve years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a library. 

Desirable:- I. One year experience of Computerizing library activities in a library under Central/State Governments or Union territories or Universities or recognized Research Institutes or Public Sector Undertakings or Statutory or Autonomous Organizations. 

II. One year professional experience in indexing work of health services literature. 

IIL Diploma in Computer Applications from a recognized University or Institute. 

Note 1: The Departmental Senior Library and Information Officer in pay Level-l2 of the Pay Matrix (Rs.78,800 -2,Og,2OO) [PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100) with Grade Pay of Rs.7600/- in prerevised scale of pay] with five years regular service in the grade and possessing Bachelor's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized University or institute shall also be considered along with outsiders. In case he/she is selected, the post shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion otherwise, it will be treated as having been filled on deputation(including short term contract)
