 Dear SALIS Members and Members of the LIS community,

 On behalf of Founder President, President and Governing Council of SALIS, I pleased to
 announce that SALIS invites an application/nominations from the members of LIS community for
 the following awards .

 1. Dr. Harish Chandra-Sushila Chandra Best Librarian Award
 (National Level Award)

 2. AutoLib-Tamilnadu-Best Librarian Award
 Sponsored by AutoLib Software System, Chennai

 3. AutoLib-Tamilnadu-Best Young Librarian Award (below 40 years)
 Sponsored by AutoLib Software System, Chennai

 4. A.N.Marappan Memorial National Best Young Librarian Award (below 40 years)
 (National Level award)
 Sponsored by Dr.A.M.Venkatachalam,Senior Librarian,Chettinad College
 of Engineering and Technology, Karur, TamilNadu

 A committee constituted by the President, SALIS will select a suitable candidate for each
 award among the nominations/applications received strictly based on the criteria fixed for the
 award. If suitable candidates are not found for the award, the committee will nominate deserving LIS professionals strictly based on the criteria fixed
for the award.

 All the awardees will be presented memento, shawl and citation during the two day SALIS 2014 -
 National Conference on "National Conference on Reaching the Unreached: Connecting the Library Users and Resources through InnovativeServices and Technologies” on 8th August 2014 during the inaugural function.

 Last date for the receipt of application/nomination is 12.7.2014.

 application by mail with the subject name as 'Application fo SALIS Awards".

 All the details of the awards, eligibility, instructions, application form, etc are available
 at SALIS website.

 The filled-in application form along with the supported documents ( hard copies ) should be
 sent by post only to:

 Instructions:

 1. Applicant should be a citizen of India.
 2. The applicant should be a working library professional who holds at least Bachelors degree in library science or its equivalent.
 3. Interested professionals should apply in the prescribed application form only
 4. Senior professionals can also nominate deserving candidates using the prescribed application.
 5. The application form can be downloaded from the SALIS  website at www.salis.in
 6. Filled application as per instructions given with supported documents should reach SALIS office on or before 12.7.2014.
 7. Please note that application only will be accpted with documentary evidence only in hardcopy wherever required.
 8. Softcopy of the application will not be  accepted.
 9. A committee constituted by SALIS will scrutinize the received application/nomination forms from eligible candidates
    and select one applicant for each award based on the criteria set for the award.
   If suitable candidate for each award is not found, the committee will nominate eligible candidate for the award strictly
   based on the criteria for the award.
 10. The decision of the committee constituted by SALIS, to select the candidate for the award  is final.
 11. Award Committee has the right to post-pone or cancels the award for any unavoidable reason.
  12. No enquirey will be entertained about to know the stauts of the award
13. The result of the award will be communicated to the awardess and also to the forum
