QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
1. Master's degree in Library Science or in Documentation.
2. One year's specialization in Archives & M.S.S. Keeping.
3. 8 years experience as Assistant Librarian in a University
/College or College Library/Institution of National
Importance at equivalent level.
OR
1. B.Lib. Science.
2. M.A. Arabic/Persian/Islamic Studies/Medieval History.
3. One year's specialization in Archives & M.S.S. Keeping or
equivalent.
4. 8 years experience as Assistant Librarian of a University
Library/College Library/Libraries of National Importance 4
years of which should be in the M.S.S. division.
DESIRABLE :
Master's Degree in Library Science or Ph.D. in the Area
of Arabic/Persian/Medieval History/Islamic Studies.
Note : The selection committee will be authorized to relax the
prescibed qualifications if a highly qualified scholar found
sutaible for the post.

QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL
i. A Master's Degree in Library Science/Information Science
/documentation with atleast 55% of the marks or its
equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a
consistently good academic record;
ii. Five years' experience as an Assistant University Librarian
/ College Librarian.
iii.Evidence of innovative library service and organisation of
published work and professional commitment, computerisation
of Library
DESIRABLE :
A M.Phil./ Ph.D. degree in library Science / information
Science / Documentation / Archives and manuscript-keeping/
computerisation of Library.

Post: Assistant Librarians, Maulana Azad Library (9)
Pay Band Rs. 15600 - 39100 GP Rs. 6000 Plus allowances
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
1. A Master's Degree in Library Science/ Information Science /
Documentation Science or an equivalent Professional Degree
with at least 55% marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point
scale wherever grading systems is followed) and a
consistently good academic record with knowledge of
Computerization of Library.
2. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the
purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
3. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and
(ii) above, candidates, who are or have been awarded a
Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants
Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of
Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the
requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of
NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant
Librarian or equivalent positions in Universities/
Colleges/ Institutions;
OR
The candidates having been awarded Ph.D. Degree prior to
11.07.2009, the date of notification of UGC (Minimum
Standard Procedure for the award of M.Phil / Ph.D. Degree )
Regulation, 2009 or admitted prior to the aforesaid date
and awarded Ph.D. after the above notification shall be
exempted from requirement of the minimum eligibility
conditions of NET / SLET/SET and will be eligible to apply
for the post of Assistant Librarian provided they fulfill
minimum 6 out 11 conditions as recommended by the
Thyagrajan Committee and have obtained certificate in this
regard from the Competent Authority of the concerned
University.

1. Persons downloading the Form from the Net are required to
send a Cash receipt of Rs 150/ issued by the State Bank of
India, AMU Branch (05555), under the Head, "Employement Fee". in
the Account No. 106121 79068 or Demand Draft of Rs. 150/ payable
to Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh at State Bank of India, AMU
Branch Aligarh (05555), alongwith the duly filled employment
form complete in all respect. Complete application form procured
in the above manner may either be delivered personally at the
Reception Counter of Administrative Block or sent by post,
superscribing on the top at the left side of the cover, the post
applied for, advertisement number and date, to the Assistant
Registrar, (Selection Committee), Aligarh Muslim University,
Aligarh-202002, so as to reach him by 06.03.2014
IMPORTANT NOTE : 1. Those who have applied against earlier
advertisement will have to apply a fresh with all necessasry
documents and application Fee. Their earlier applications will
not be entertained.
2. Applications received late or without necessary supporting
documents, Degree/Certificates/ Marksheets and experience
certificate not attested by the Head of the Department /
Institution / Gazetted Officer or not accompanied by full
prescribed fee shall be rejected summarily.
3. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the
marks at the Master's /Graduate level for the SC/ST Physically
and visually handicapped candidates.
4. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the
marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Master's
degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
5. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% where
the grading system is followed by recognised University shall
also be considered eligible.
6. Only such persons may apply for reserved posts who suffer
from not less than 40% of relevant disability i.e. visually
handicapped (VH), Hearing Handicapped (HH) and Orthopedically
Handicapped (OH) for which they will have to submit a Disability
Certificate Issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed
Format (Annexure-I), available on the Website:

7. Persons with disablities who enclose with the application
form neccessary Cerificate from a Competent Authority in support
of their Claim of Disability shall be exempted from payment of
presceribed application Fee.
8. The eligibility of candidates will be determined as on the
last date of submission of employment forms.
