LIBRARIAN, “CHILDREN” - DELHI

Children, Bawana, Delhi
“Children” is a non-profit organization affiliated to Children International based at Bawana which falls in the North western part of Delhi. The agency works towards fulfilling the educational and health needs of children from J.J. Colony, Bawana through promotive, preventive and basic curative health services, pre-school education, preventive and rehabilitative nutritional supplementary feeding, remedial education, library and IT education. “Children” has been working in Bawana since 2007 and has initiated a Community Centre and enrolled 1000 children under its sponsorship program.

“Children” invites applications from qualified candidates for 

Librarian – Full time (5 days a week)

Based at
Tilden Keller Community Centre, Bawana Chowk, Bawana, Delhi

Key Responsibilities
i. To record, maintain and regularly update books, magazines and periodicals at Community Centre library.
ii. To develop in consultation with Program Manager session plan as well as implementation strategies of tutorials.
iii. To carry out basic comprehension and study skill tutorials for sponsored children/ volunteers regularly.
iv. To regularly update Program Manager on progress of beneficiaries.
v. To operate Library software for recording all Library information.

Specific Job Skills
i. Graduate in Behavioral Sciences 
ii. Must have excellent facilitation skills
iii. Must be able to communicate fluently in English and Hindi
iv. Previous experience of working with children for at least 1 year desirable
v. Must be adept in the use of MS Office 2007 particularly word, excel and internet navigation
vi. Must be able to plan and execute workshops and sessions in a community setting

Remuneration Offered
Librarian – Rs. 9,000/- to 13,000/- per month (commensurate with educational qualification and experience)
