IGNOU invites applications from the Indian
citizens for the following non teaching & teaching/academic posts on contract/deputation
basis for its Indian Sign Language Research & Training Centre (ISLRTC) at Hqrs. The educational qualifications, age, experience
and other eligibility conditions for the posts are furnished against each post:
Librarian

Essential Educational & Professional Qualification and Experience:
i. A Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% markds (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.

Note:
a) The above qualifications of Librarian are based on the qualifications prescribed by the UGC for the post of University Assistant Librarian in PB-3 (AGP-Rs.6000).
b) The qualifications prescribed by UGC for the post of University Librarian in PB-4 (AGP-Rs. 10,000) are
- A Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven points scale and consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations.
- At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a university library or eighteen years experience as a College Librarian.
- Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
- Desirable: A. M.Phil/Ph.D.Degree in library science/information science/documentation/achieves and manuscript-keeping.
In view of the approved budgetary provisions for ISLRTC, the University may request the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to change the designation of the post from “Librarian” to that of “Assistant Librarian”

Gross Salary with HRA Rs.37375/- p.m.)
Essential Qualification
1. Degree in Library Science from a recognised University.
2. Diploma in Computer Applications of a recognised university or Institute.
3. Knowledge of Computer Operation in Library work. It includes-
(i) Knowledge and experience of working with any standard "Library Automation Software" for House Keeping activities in the library such as cataloguing, acquisition and circulation etc. and (ii) Knowledge and
experience of computerized search both of on-line and off-line databases including retrieval of desired information through various search engines/processes.
Experience
Minimum two years experience in a Library of any Government organisation/recognised Educational or Research Institution.
Age Requirement
Candidates should be below 27 years as on 1.1.2013. Usual relaxation in age will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged/Ex-S€rvicemen as per Government Rules. There will be no upper age limit for those who are already working in the Registry of Supreme Court of India. Relaxation in upper age limit upto a maximum of 5 years will be considered in case of those Government Servants who are working in posts, which are in same line/allied cadre.

The Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology, Malda is an autonomous society under the
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, located at Malda, West Bengal engaged in development
of Technical manpower for the region and all India.
1. ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN : 01 (One)
(i) Age:Upper limit is below 35 years
(ii) Master Degree in Library Science/ Information Science / Documentation
Science or an equivalent professional degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point
scale or at least 60% marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed)and a consistently good academic
record with superior knowledge of computerized library service.
(iii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
(iv) However, candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards
and Procedure for Award of Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009, shall be
exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of
NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Librarian.
(v) Desirable: PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking or PGDCA or
equivalent.
Application may be sent in the standard application format with name, age, address, qualification, professional experience etc. accompanied by attested copies of certificates and application fee of Rs. 300/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST) through demand draft in favour of “Accounts Officer, GKCIET, Malda” payable at “Malda”. For the post of Professor, candidates should furnish Academic Performance Indicators (APIs) score as per AICTE format. Candidates will be shortlisted as per short listing criteria. Merely fulfilling minimum qualifications may not automatically entail a candidate to be called for the interview.
Reservation policy of Govt. of India will be followed. The SC/ST/OBC certificate in the prescribed form only issued by the competent authority declared by Govt. of India will be accepted as proof in support of
