TRAINING WORKSHOP ON Various Trends of Information Communication Technology And Its applications in Social Science Information January 31 to February 2, 2013, at Jiwaji University, Gwalior (M.P.)

Dear Colleagues,
Jiwaji
University, Gwalior (M.P.), India, in collaboration with the National Social Science Documentation Centre (NASSDOC),
Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi is organizing a
three-day “Training Workshop on Various Trends of Information Communication Technology
and Its applications in Social Science Information between January 31
and February 1-2, 2013 at School of Studies in Library & Information
Science, Jiwaji University, Gwalior (M.P.).
The ICSSR training workshop
will focus on the renewed role of libraries in promoting information resources
in social sciences. In view of the ICSSR/ NASSDOC’s emphasis on training and
skill development of participants in the country, this workshop will be an
effort in that direction to providing effective information services to the
wider network of social science researchers in India.
The workshop is meant
exclusively for candidates working as librarians, researchers in social
sciences, and information managers of research institutions in India. There is no Course Fee. For outstation
participants, No T.A. will be
reimbursed. The participants will be provided with free
lodging and boarding at University Guest House. A separate request
should be made in the registration form for accommodation.
An early confirmation
from the participants will enable us to reserve slot at this workshop which
promises to be a vital learning experience for the participants. The climate in Gwalior in January will be cold.
The probable
participants are requested to confirm their participation as early as possible (latest by January 10, 2013).

Qualifications :
Essential
(i) A Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation / Achieves and manuscript keeping or publication research work of an equivalent high standard, and
(ii) Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science/ Documentation with atleast 2.75 OCGA in 4.00 point scale or equivalent (Trimester/Semester system) or 55% marks (Traditional system) or an equivalent degree of a Foreign / Indian University, and
(iii) A Bachelor’s degree in Library Science / Information Science/ Documentation with atleast 2.75 OCGA in 4.00 point scale or equivalent (Trimester/Semester system) or 55% marks (Traditional system). On the basis of which division is awarded by the University at Bachelor’s degree.
Desirable
1 NET/Doctorate degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation
2 Atleast 13 Years experience as deputy librarian in the university library or 18 years experience as College Librarian.
3 Evidence of innovative library service and organization or public work.
Note
(a) The requirement regarding minimum percentage of marks shall be relaxed up to 5 % in case of Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes Candidates.
(b) RVSKVV Employees (either belonging to unreserved category or reserved category of Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes) with a minimum of 5 (Five) years service in the Vishwa Vidyalaya shall be given relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum percentage of marks.
(c) The requirement regarding minimum percentage of marks in one of the degrees / certificate examinations shall be relaxed up to 5% in the case of persons passed NET examination or holding Ph. D. degree.

Applications complete in all respects together with the application fee of Rs. 400/- (Rs. Four hundred only) and Rs. 200/- (Rs. Two hundred only) for SC/ ST Candidates, in shape of Bank Draft in favour of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Gwalior, payable at Gwalior should reach the Registrar latest by 31st May, 2012.
