Experience - Four years' experience in any scientific / university / research Institute / college library in the pay scale of PB2: 9300-34800/- Grade Pay 4200/- or above. The person having a post graduate degree in Library Science i.e. M.L.I.Sc etc. shall be given relaxation of one year in experience. Preference may be given to those candidates having sufficient knowledge of Information Technology including the use of Library Management software and office Automation.

User awareness programme on N-LIST organised at Allahabad University
ALLAHABAD: The authorities of the Central Library of Allahabad University in collaboration with INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad (an IUC of University Grants Commission) organised a day's user awareness programme on N-LIST, on Friday. Organised at the seminar hall of AU's guest house, the awareness programme was attended by representatives of over 75 different educational institutions of higher studies, not only from city but from various other districts too.
Detailing on the successful programme, deputy librarian, Dr B K Singh said that the project entitled 'National library and information services infrastructure for scholarly content (N-LIST), is being jointly executed by the UGC-INFONET digital library consortium, INFLIBNET centre and the INDEST-AICTE consortium. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET centre.
The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher's website once they are duly authenticated as authorized user through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET centre.
Faculty members, staff, students and researchers from eligible colleges covered under Section 12B/2F of UGC Act and Non-Aided colleges (except Agriculture, Engineering, Management, Medical, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Nursing) are eligible to access e-resources through the N-LIST project. Members can access more than 4000 e-journals and 80000 e-books through this project. tnn
There were more than75 participants in this programme which includes the principals, librarians and faculty members of the constituent colleges of AU as well as other colleges situated in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Dean Research and Development Prof NR Farooqi, inaugurated the programme. He stressed on maximum usage of AU's library and motivated those attending the programme that as authorities put so much of efforts in providing various amenities in the library, the real beneficiaries should come forward and make use of the library.
Prof-In-Charge of the Central Library of AU, Prof HD Sharma, welcomed the guests and participants while senior scientists of INFLIBNET, Ashok Kumar Rai gave the detailed exposition of N-LIST. The deputy librarian, who was also the coordinator of this programme delivered the vote of thanks.

Hindi library at Post Master General office (Allahabad)
ALLAHABAD: To let Hindi thrive, we have to develop interest towards it among people and libraries have an important role in this, said Lt Col Ashok Kumar Gupta at the inauguration of the newly constructed Hindi Library at the Office of Post Master General Allahabad. He said books on various subjects should be compiled in the library. Presiding over the function director postal services Krishna Kumar Yadav said books are like oxygen that refreshes the environment. Some time spent in the library between the busy hours will refresh the minds of employees and interest make them interested in knowledge and research. The library has a collection of more than 2,000 books along with the four 'Vedas'. Assistant director (Raajbhasha) R N Yadav delivered the welcome address and assistant director Madhusudan Prasad Mishra extended the vote of thanks. Senior postmaster T B Singh, along with Ram Surat, Nand Kishore, assistant superintendent Prabhakar Tripathi and other employees were also present.
Body building champs: Gold and silver medals were won by contestants from Allahabad in the senior Eastern UP Body Building championship held at Ghazipur recently. While Navin Sonkar of the city won gold medal in the 0-50 kg category, in the 70-75 Kg category Rishabh Malviya of Allahabad bagged the silver medal, informed president, Allahabad Body Building Association Sheikh Tauqeer Ahmed.
Majlis: A majlis will be organised at Imambara Husain Khan at Rani Mandi on Thursday. Zaigham Abbas will perform sozkhani while Maulana Hasan Raza Saheb will address the majlis. Followers of Dast-e-Abbasia will perform nauhakhani and seenazani. The majlis is being organised in memory of Karrar Husain.

कुलपति ने किया पुस्तकालय भवन का शिलान्यास
इलाहाबाद : उत्तर प्रदेश राजर्षि टंडन मुक्त विवि फाफामऊ के शैक्षणिक परिसर में निर्मित होने वाले केंद्रीय पुस्तकालय भवन का शिलान्यास शुक्रवार को कुलपति प्रो. एके बख्शी ने किया। वैदिक मंत्रोच्चार के बीच भूमि पूजन हुआ और कुलपति ने नींव का पहला पत्थर रखा। इस दो मंजिला पुस्तकालय भवन का निर्माण दूरस्थ शिक्षा परिषद, नई दिल्ली की ओर से मिले अनुदान से कराया जा रहा है जबकि कार्यदायी संस्था उत्तर प्रदेश राजकीय निर्माण निगम, कौशांबी इकाई, इलाहाबाद है। इस अवसर पर रजिस्ट्रार डॉ. एके सिंह, पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष डॉ. टीएन दुबे, प्रो. एसपी गुप्ता, डॉ. एमएन सिंह, डॉ. पीपी दुबे, डॉ. ओमजी गुप्ता और विवि के शिक्षक व कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे।
