Qualifications
Essential:
For Sl. No. (3):

a. A Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and consistently good academic record as set out in UGC Regulations, 2010.

b. At least 13 (thirteen) years of experience as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 (eighteen) years of experience as a College Librarian.

c. Evidence of innovative library services and organization of published work.

Desirable:

For Sl. No. (3):

A M.Phil / Ph.D degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscript Keeping.
Note : (i) A relaxation of 5% may be provided for the minimum eligibility marks of 55% at the Master’s level to the Ph.D. degree holders who have obtained there master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991.
(ii) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) may be considered while deciding on the selection criterion by the University.
Pay Band:
For Sl. No. (3): Rs.37,400 – 67,000 + AGP Rs.10,000/-

The University invites applications for the post of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor

from Indian Nationals. These posts were advertised earlier vide Employment Notification Nos. :

A2/C/7/2008, A2/C/2/2009, A2/C/3/2009, A2/C/1/2010, A2/C/2/2010, A2/C/1/2011, A2/C/2/2011, A2/C/3/2011 and those who applied earlier against these advertisements need to apply afresh in the prescribed format (new application form) but without any application fee (only the proof of earlier payment (No. / Photocopy of the D/D) has to be submitted).

Assistant Professor : (Published as Lecturer)

Library & Information Science : One post (OBC – A)

Qualfications: 

1. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) as the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject.
2. At least a second class ‘Three Year’ Bachelor’s Degree with Honours / Major in the relevant / allied subject.
3. The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET / SLET.
4. However, the candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the Minimum Eligibility Condition of NET / SLET / SET.

5. NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters programme in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted.

Note :
1. A relaxation of 5% in the marks may be provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-abled (physically as well as visually) categories.
a. At the Masters level required to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria.
b. For assessing good academic record throughout the candidate’s career.
The marks in each case mean the qualifying marks without any grace marks and/or rounding off procedures.
2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided for the minimum eligibility marks of 55% at the Master level to the Ph.D. degree holders who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to September 19, 1991.
