The Records Management Journal invites submissions for a special issue focused on the opportunities and challenges of managing big data and open data. We welcome contributions about, but not limited to, the following themes:
· The application of records management and archival theory to data management
· Professional roles and skills: records manager, information manager, archivist, data scientist, data/information analyst
· Systems design and infrastructure
· Technologies and tools for access, analysis, use and re-use
· Open source formats and approaches
· Planning, management, resourcing
· Context/ metadata capture
· Data integrity / traceability to reliable sources

· Retention and preservation
· User and organisational needs
· Relationship of records, data and statistics

We are interested in different disciplinary perspectives from researchers, academics and practitioners. Submissions can be viewpoints, critical reviews, research, case studies or conceptual/philosophical papers.

Submission Process
Extended abstracts should be a 500 word version of the Records Management Journal’s structured abstract, using the headings described in the author guidelines (http://www.emeraldinsight.com/products/journals/author_guidelines.htm?id=rmj&PHPSESSID=dv5qj5pu3vi7klhdrjjmrsust5#14). Under the design/methodology/approach heading, please include the following as appropriate to the type of paper:
· What is the approach to the topic if it is a theoretical or conceptual paper? Briefly outline existing knowledge and the value added by the paper compared to that.
· What is the main research question and/or aim if it a research paper? What is the research strategy and the main method(s) used?
· If the paper is a case study outline its scope and nature and the method of deriving conclusions.

1. Qualification
(1) First Class or equivalent in Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience
Minimum of 10 years Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience of which at least

OR

In case of Research experience good academic record and Books/Research Papers
Publications/IPR/Patent record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of

If the experience in Industry is considered, the same shall be at Managerial Level
equivalent to Professor with active participation record in devising/designing, planning,
executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books/ research
paper publication/ IPR/ patent etc. as deemed fit by the expert member of the Selection
Committee. Flair for Management and Leadership is essential.
2. Qualification for the Post of Librarian
(1) Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science/ Documentation Science or an
equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade
of 55% marks where grading system is practiced and a consistently good academic
record with knowledge on computerization on library.
(2) Qualifying in the National Eligibility Test(NET) or other accredited test like SLET/SET
in Library Science conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved
by the UGC.
(3) Holders of Ph. D. Degree as on the date of Notifications of these Regulations, along with
those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D. degree through a process of admission,
registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum
Standards and Procedure for award of Ph. D. Degree), Regulations, 2009 and so adopted
by the university shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
(4) NET can be relaxed for candidates having 1st Class Masters of Library Science /
Information Science/ Documentation Science.
