Library Trainee (Two Post) on Temprory Basis at National Insurance Academy, Pune
National Insurance Academy conducts training, research, publications and consultancy in Insurance and related areas. Academy is also building on an insurance education tradition begun in 2004.
The Academy invites applications for purely temporary post of “Library Trainee” on consolidated payment of Rs.10,000/‐ per month.

No. of Posts: 02 (Two)
Duration: 84 days
For selection of Library trainees, following qualifications are required:
Educational Qualifications:
Essential: a. Bachelor’s Degree from recognized university.
b. Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science.
c. Basic Computer Knowledge is essential.
Desirable: Masters Degree in Library and Information Science
Upper Age Limit: 26 years on 30 September 2014 (Relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC)
Job Description: The candidate will have to work in NIA Library in shifts (early morning/late evening) as per library requirement. Candidate may also need to work on Sundays/NIA holidays. Selected candidates will not be entitled for any other benefits from NIA.

Vacancy of Sr. Librarian@ ADAPT, Mumbai
Are you looking to be part of an innovative and dynamic library team?
ADAPT (Formerly The Spastics Society of India), Mumbai is looking for a dedicated and customer-focused individual for the position of Senior Librarian.
The candidates applying for the post should have a Master’s Degree in Library Science (or equivalent) with 5 years of experience in a College’s / Institution’s library. It will be desirable if the candidate has experience of recent advances in library operations, digitization and knowledge management.
This position will entail:
• Connecting readers with library, community resources and services provided by ADAPT
• Management of (a) the planning, administrative and budgetary functions of a library and (b) information services
• Provision of effective access to ADAPT’s library collections and resources
• Having a detailed understanding and practical ability of utilizing the ‘Greenstone’ platform
• Using automated information systems, databases and other technology for a range of processing and service-related tasks
• Maintaining collections using established procedures and systems
• Possessing the ability to provide direct services to both, on-site and off-site readers
• Assisting with other library activities and promotion activities
• Assisting in ADAPT’s research activities
The position is based in Mumbai and the selected candidate can be expected to work at all branches. Retired librarians with a passion for working in the social sector are also encouraged to apply to this position.
