National conference on "Trends in Management of Academic Libraries in Digital Environment (TMALDEN-2014), 19-20 December, 2014 at Jain Knowledge Campus, District Fund Road, Bangalore


Dear Professionals,

With great pleasure we would like to inform you that, the Learning Resource Centre (Library), Jain University, Bangalore is organizing a Two Day National Conference on "Trends in Management of Academic Libraries in Digital Environment (TMALDEN-2014)" on 19-20 December, 2014 at Jain Knowledge Campus, District Fund Road, Behind Big Bazar, Jayanagar 9th Block, Bangalore- 560 069.

Objectives of the Conference

* To explore the trends in management of academic libraries including Web-scale discovery systems with enhancements such as discipline-scoped searching and customized widgets, community-source Library Management Systems.
* To provide a platform to discuss how it continues to drive much of the futuristic thinking within academic libraries.
* To understand user's desire for information and access to social media and networks anytime/ anywhere; acceptance and adoption of cloud- based technologies; more value placed on collaboration; challenges to the role of higher education in a world where information is ubiquitous and alternate forms of credentialing are available; new education paradigms that include on-line and hybrid learning; and a new emphasis on challenge- based and active learning.
* To promote the libraries commonly provided digital repository services, author copyright advice, digitization services, and management of research datasets, as well as metadata creation, cataloguing and digital preservation.

Call for Paper

* Original contributions based on applications/ deployments/ research/ surveys/ practices related to the theme and sub themes mentioned, are invited for conference presentation.
* The paper should not exceed 3000 words (not more than 10 pages) and should contain an abstract  100 to 200 words.
* Based on the technical committee's recommendations, selected papers will be published in the Conference Volume with ISBN Number.
* Registration of all authors is mandatory for paper presentation and publication. 
* Authors are requested to submit the full- text of their papers on or before 30th Nov 2014.
* The deadline for registering for the Conference is 15th Dec 2014
* All papers should be submitted through the email: tmalden2014@gmail.com for peer review.

Essential Qualifications: 
(i) Graduate with minimum 50% marks Or Masters with minimum 50% marks. 
(ii) B.Lib.Sc./ B.LI.Sc with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university. 
(iii) Six months course in Computer Applications. 

Desirable Qualifications: 
Social Sciences background, with work experience of computerization, Library software, 
digitization, E-resources, E-databases etc. 
Age: 32 years on the date of publishing the advertisement. Other things being equal, 
SC/ST/OBC candidates will be preferred. Age relaxation as per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Examination Fee: A non-Refundable fee of Rs.100/- for all categories. The Fee should be paid in the form of a crossed Demand Draft (drawn at the main branch ofany of the Nationalized Banks), valid for a period of three months or in the form of Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of 'ASSISTANT SECRETARY OR SECRETARY OR MEMBER SECRETARY OR CHAIRMAN OF RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD," of concerned RRB.
