The Central Library of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, will organize a three-day National Workshop on Library Automation using Open Source Integrated Library Management (ILMS) Software KOHA during November 6-8, 2014. The workshop will be of immense benefit to Library and Information science professionals working in different types of libraries and information centres and knowledge centres, LIS faculty, Research scholars, students, all stakeholders interested in LIS activities including IT professionals.
Workshop director, Dr. ARD Prasad is an eminent Library & Information Science expert and he is currently Professor & Head, Documentation Research & Training Centre (DRTC), Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore. DRTC is one of the pioneer institutes in Library Science education in India with a very strong research program founded by Dr. S.R.Ranganathan-Father of Library Science in India. Dr.Prasad is an eminent scientist in the field of Library and Information Science. He is also the member of National Mission on Libraries; National Knowledge Commission and member of UGC Curriculum Development Committee formed by Govt. of India. Currently he is involved in European Commissions FP7-FET project on Living Knowledge.
This is to request you to nominate LIS / IT professionals from your institutes to attend this workshop. Participation to this workshop is limited to 50 participants only on first-cum-first basis.
