Purpose of the Job
Act as the liaison between the librarian/Deputy Librarian and staff for communication purposes and supervise the activities of section.
Principal Accountabilities*Deal Independently
*Book processing/Journal/Online Database Subscription
*Independently answerable for the queries of Departments in the absence of Librarian
Main duties and responsibilities
*To interact with the academic community of the University in order to determine their requirements of reading, materials, and acquires the same for the library.
*To classify the documents to bring out their contents in class numbers, provides reference services and documentation services to the faculty members, research-scholars and students.
*Prepare bibliographies and indexes.
*To attend correspondence relating to the section.
*Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Person specification
An ideal candidate should have experience in library in academic in the Higher Education Sector.
Innovative, confident and capable individuals with experience in higher education teaching. An understanding and preferable technical knowledge in operation KOHA sofwar package.
Candidate should be independently anwerable and confident enough to handle the queries of Departments in the absence of his/her supervisor.
Qualification
Masters in Library Science
Bachelors in Library Science
Knowledge
*Proficiency in English
*Digitalization
*Computerization activities
*Pref. Technical Knowledge in operation KOHA software package.
