The Central Library of
University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun is
organizing a three-day National Workshop on Library Automation using
Open Source ILMS KOHA to be held at the UPES Campus from 6th to 8th November 2014.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
- To create an awareness on the benefits of using Open Source Software,
- To introduce the Ubuntu operating system to the participants.
- To introduce KOHA as an Integrated Library management System
- To develop skills in installation of Koha on Ubuntu platform, customization, Data Migration and implementation.
- To develop an expertise by providing a thorough training, tutorial, demonstration and hands-on practice
- To equip the participants for managing Koha at institutions with large collections
- To exchange information, knowledge and experience in using KOHA for Library management.
Extensive practical
sessions/hands-on-training, enriched with interactive sessions will be
the hallmark of the Workshop. The Workshop will be handled by eminent
experts with extensive practical experience in Linux and Koha

REGISTRATION FEE
- Sponsored Delegates : Rs. 2500/-
- Students : Rs. 1500/-
- Others : Rs.2000/-
The fee covers the workshop
kit, course materials, lunch and tea, and to and fro travelling
facilities from Dehradun City to Workshop venue. The number of
participants is limited and admission will be strictly on a
first-cum-first-serve basis.
