I am very happy to announce that the Department of Library and Information Science, School for Information Science and Technology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow is going to organize a National Seminar on “Changing Paradigm of Libraries in Higher Education” on New extended Date on 25th* March 2015* at SES, Conference Hall, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Vidya Vihar, Rae Bareli Road, Lucknow-226025, (U.P.) India. The purpose of the seminar is to have exchange ideas of changing scenario of Libraries in higher education by burning topics which are puzzling the LIS community both in application and academia. The emerging trend of digital technology has already started compelling Libraries and Information Centers to analyze new trends and work out strategies so as to play a vital role in the newly emerging global knowledge society. It has not only brought a change in the library and information services, but also on the roles of librarians and information professionals. Some of the challenges that the information professionals are required to strategically address include digital divide, Quick Response Code, Mobile Technology, Content Creation Management etc. They have to stay relevant in increasingly fluid and dynamic knowledge Society by incorporating strategic foresight to explore new markets, products and services and ultimately meet emerging user’s needs. This Seminar will provide the road map for building the digital India.
