We are also inviting, Directors of Public Libraries from 19 States in which the Public Libraries Acts are in force and also requesting them to make a presentation on their respective State Act. So your contribution will add to foresee a Vision for the development of the Public Libraries in the Country in the “Digital India” Mission visualised by Hon. Prime Minister of India, Sri Sri Narendra Modiji. Public Libraries, corollary to Peoples’ University, would carry the gospel of this mission to every part of the country through the public libraries and bring an awakening about “Information for All” the main theme of this Conference.

You would be delighted receive this appeal to contribute a paper for the Forthcoming National Conference under the theme “ Information for All - Public Libraries and Digital India Initiatives” being organised by the Department of Public Libraries, Government of Karnataka, from 21st to 23rd January 2016 at Bangalore.
The National Conference is organise to Commemorate the Centenary of the *Sir Seshadri Iye Memorial Hall which was dedicated to house the public library in 1915 by *Sir M. Visveswaraya, the then Dewan Mysore and it is housing the *Karnataka State Central Library. You are quite aware that the Department of Public Libraries came into existent by virtue of the “Karnataka State Public Libraries Act, 1965”. So it is a double celebration for the profession of Librarianship and in particular to the Public Library Movement in Karnataka, by the yeomen contributions of Dr. S.R.Ranganathan,* who was given the able legislative and public support by the them Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Sri B. Vaikunt Baliga, also the then President of Karnataka Library Association, and by *Hon. Sri S.R.Kanthi, *the then Education Minister, hailed as a visionary.
