One Hundred Years old Hardayal Municipal Heritage Public Library (HMHPL) at Delhi (India) in collaboration with South Asian University and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi (India) is organizing an International Conference on "Protecting, Conserving and Preserving Literary Heritage Collections: Channeling International Cooperation" It will take place in December 11 to 13, 2016 at Delhi, India. The Conference is supported by Ministry of Culture, GOI and various Municipal Councils of Delhi.

The overall aim of the conference is to explore opportunities for national and international collaboration to network staff to learn, discuss, and share expertise and experience in protection and preservation of tangible and intangible heritage resources available in libraries, archives and museums, and to create consortia common to all stakeholders facilitating discovery and seamless access to global heritage collections.
The HMPHL will precede this conference event with a mega Social Festival to commemorate 100 years of the prestigious heritage library in service to the nation on December 10, 2016 with varieties of program. This will showcase the traditional Indian culture covering the event from several dimensions.
It’s a unique opportunity to listen to about 25 leading experts and interact with them.
We wish to invite you to this challenging conference which focuses on conservation and preservation of literary heritage available in printed and digital form. The issue is of primary importance with a view to carry forward the knowledge and wisdom from one generation to another. Technological advancement does demand to take note of this issue seriously and carefully and we are sure that your presence would be helpful to us in framing desired policy on the issue conservation and preservation of literary heritage.
