3 Days Advanced Training Programme on Shodhganga at INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, Guajrat

Shodhganga is a repository of Indian theses and dissertations, which is growing progressively and has crossed the mark of 11,000 theses in Nov, 2013. Centre is receiving requests from university community to impart specialized training for Shodhganga. In this context, “3 Days Advanced Training Programme on Shodhganga” is scheduled on payment basis at INFLIBNET Centre during 29-31 January, 2014. The program will include detailed introduction, its work flow, technical process, creation of metadata and standards, submission of theses, authentication, backup, role and responsibilities of University Coordinator etc. The program will also have hands on training on DSpace which is the backend IR software used for building Shodhganga and the effective use of ingestion interface for managing the submission process.

The course fee for the program is Rs. 3000/- (Rupees three thousands only) + Accommodation Charges is Rs. 750/- per day on twin sharing basis and tax @ 12.5% extra. The INFLIBNET Centre is offering a combo package of Rs. 5,000/- for 3 days (3 days and 3 nights). TA/DA is to be borne by respective university or participants. The course fee includes course material, breakfast and working lunch. Dinner will be provided on payment basis. Registration will be done on first come first serve basis. Recruitment Notice for the post of College Librarian on Ad-hoc Basis

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria for the post of College Librarian are invited to appear before the Selection Committee on December 16th 2013 at 11:00am in the College Committee Room.

The appointment shall be purely on ad-hoc basis for a period of 4 months terminable even before without assigning any reasons thereof and without prior notice. The term may be renewed and will be governed as per University of Delhi rules for ad-hoc appointment.

Scale of Pay: 15600-39100 with AGP: Rs.6000/- plus usual allowances as admissible for Ad-hoc appointments as per University of Delhi rules.

Eligibility Criteria:

1) A Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.

2) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
