(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET. (iii) Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. (iv) NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s Degree Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET accredited test is not conducted.

We are now accepting internship applications.
Internship duration: 1-5 months
Internship Period: Between November 2015 to March 2016

The IIHS Internship Program provides young scholars an interdisciplinary environment of learning by participating in our on-going research and practice projects. IIHS Internships will enable you to learn more about your chosen field, as well as enable you to immersing yourself in other domains in a new vibrant environment of learning and doing.

Current requirements are in these specific fields. Other applications will be considered but priority will be given to the following:

Energy Planning for Cities
Course management for short-term and executive teaching
Library, Knowledge and Information Systems
Campus Development, Architecture and Planning
Communications and Outreach
Writing and Editorial
Legal and Regulation

These are paid internships located in Bangalore. Some internships may be available in Delhi.

Eligibility
We are looking for candidates who are committed, willing to learn, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous professional work experience and academic coursework in the chosen field will be helpful but is not a requirement to participate in the IIHS internship Program.

Ideal candidates will possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate willingness to learn while carrying out a variety of activities as needed.  They will be ready to work to meeting deadlines and look to making your contribution meaningful in completing a successful internship with us.

Candidates must be currently pursuing or be recent graduates with Masters or PhD degrees in any discipline relevant to the themes outlined above.

Candidates applying for internships under the theme-Legal and Regulation must be pursuing or be recent graduates with an undergraduate or Master’s degree in law.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EoI) INVITED FROM LIBRARY PROFESSIONALS FOR WORK RELATED TO AUTOMATION OF KILA LIBRARY

KILA invites Expression of Interest (EoI) from the Library Science professionals on per day honorarium basis for various works related to the automation of KILA Library with an integrated Library Management Software
(KOHA) for approximately 15000 books. At the end of the assignment, KILA is expected to have generated the following deliverables :

  - Physical verification of data updated in the KOHA database
  - Add missing bibliographic data into of the existing records in KOHA   database
  - Verify the classification code of the existing records in KOHA   database with physical records
  - Verifying the Accession register with physical record/books
  - Creation of accession number in the accession register for new books
  - Creating call number for the book
  - Pasting of new bar codes in each Book
  - Recording of Call number and Accession Number in different places of each book
  - Rearranging the books in the shelf according to its call Number

*Qualification & Experience*

  - Bachelor?s/Master?s degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized university
  - Minimum SIX months of experience in a reputed library
