Recruitement of Guest Faculty in Library & information Science in Assam University.
The University invites applications for the post of Contractual Guest Faculty against vacancy in sanctioned teaching posts as per UGC norms. Guest Faculty will be paid Rs.1000/- per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs.25000/- per month, and the appointment will be for an initial period of six months starting 1st January, 2013. These are purely temporary posts and may be terminated once vacancy is filled up. The selected candidates will have no natural right for absorption as regular Faculty in the future.

मदिरालय नहीं चाहिए पुस्तकालय
जागरण प्रतिनिधि, भागलपुर : सोमवार को स्टेशन चौक पर अस्मिता थिएटर, नई दिल्ली द्वारा सफदर हाशिमी मुक्ता मंच द्वारा मदिरालय या पुस्तकालय नामक नुक्कड़ नाटक का मंचन किया गया। अंतरराष्ट्रीय ख्याति प्राप्त लेखक व रंगकर्मी अरविंद गौड़ के इस नाटक को बड़ी खूबसूरती से कलाकारों ने लोगों के बीच परोसा। नाटक के माध्यम से कलाकारों ने इस बात की ओर लोगों का ध्यान आकृष्ट किया कि देश में खरगोश की रफ्तार से मदिरालय व कछुए की रफ्तार से पुस्तकालय खुल रहे हैं। यह सिर्फ बिहार ही नहीं बल्कि पूरे देश की स्थिति है। समाज को रोशनी दिखाने के लिए पुस्तकालय की स्थापना को लेकर सोचा भी नहीं जा रहा है। शराब के ठेके से हजारों घर बर्बाद हो रहे हैं। महिलाएं व बच्चे इसका सबसे ज्यादा शिकार हो रहे हैं। रंगकर्मियों ने डफली बजाकर नाटक का आगाज किया। कलाकारों ने भ्रष्टाचार पर भी चोट किया। 'सरफरोसी की तमन्ना अब हमारे दिल में है, देखना है कि जोर कितना बाजुए कातिल में है' गाकर भ्रष्टाचारियों को आगाह किया कि अब देश उन्हें बिल्कुल बर्दाश्त करने के पक्ष में नहीं है। उनके खिलाफ डटकर लड़ाई लड़ी जाएगी। नाटक के दौरान शिल्पी मारवाह, राहुल, पूनम रस्तोगी, ब्रजेश, गुंजन, नीतू, ओम सुधा व सिद्धार्थ ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। रंगकर्मियों का परिचय सोमनाथ आर्य ने कराया। इस मौके पर रंगकर्मी बासुकी पासवान व चंद्रेश भी मौजूद थे।

The Temple University Libraries seek a talented, energetic, and service-oriented individual for the position of Digital and Web Services Librarian, based in the Digital Library Initiatives Department. The role of the Digital and Web Services Librarian is twofold. S/he coordinates the Library’s Web presence, working collaboratively with staff throughout the library system. Oversees the development and maintenance of the Drupal-based Library website, as well as its integration with other services like Libguides, CONTENTdm, the library catalog, and the delivery of Special Collections finding aids. Takes a leadership role in developing digital projects and services that serve the needs of faculty and students, particularly in the realm of digital objects publication and management, using tools like Omeka. Coordinates that work with other members of the Digital Initiatives Department who focus on digitizing and delivering Special Collections’ library materials through CONTENTdm. Participates in the gathering and analysis of use data. Maintains in-depth knowledge of standards and best practices in the realm of website development, digital humanities, scholarly use of digital data, scholarly communication, and fair use/copyright. Supervises a full-time staff member (who is responsible for the day-to-day development and maintenance of the Library website), as well as student assistants. The incumbent will participate in library-wide activities and committees, and is expected to be active professionally. Subject : Filling up the post of Library Attendant (General Central Service, Group-‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the Office of UPSC in the scale of pay of Rs.5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 1800/-in PB-1 on Deputation/Absorption basis-reg.
It is proposed to fill up three vacancies in the grade of Library Attendant (General Central Service, Group-‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the office of UPSC in the scale of pay of Rs.5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 1800/-in PB-1 on Deputation or Absorption basis.
2. Eligibility Conditions :
Deputation or absorption
Officials under the Central Government:-
(a) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; and
(b) possessing the educational qualifications and experience as below:
(i) matriculation or equivalent pass form a recognised Board; and
(ii) two years' experience of working in a Library of the Central Government or of a recognised institution.
Note 1: Period of deputation including period of deputation to another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or other organizations or departments of the Central Government shall not exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Note 2: For the purpose of computing minimum qualifying service for appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 1st January, 2006 or the date from which the revised pay structure based on the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendation has been extended, shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding grade pay or pay scale extended based on the recommendation of the Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre-revised scale of pay into one grade with a common grade pay or pay scale, and where this benefit will extend only for the post for which that grade pay or pay scale is the normal replacement grade without any upgradation.

The registration fee covers conference kit, proceedings of the conference (upon post- publication), and working lunch, dinner and breakfast and session tea for the days of the conference. The registration fee does not include accommodation charges. Papers presented at the conference will be published in the post-conference volume and would be sent to the registered delegates later on. Delegates are requested to include registration fees for accompanying persons while forwarding their registration forms since it would not be possible to entertain last minute request in view of shortage of accommodation. Accompanying persons shall not be entitled for conference kits. Delegates are requested to intimate their travel plan in advance to avoid inconvenience. The Demand Draft for registration fee should be in favour of IATLIS payable at Patiala, and should be sent along with duly filled Registration Form latest by 21 December 2012 to:

Accommodation: Accommodations in ISI guest house are very limited and will be arranged by the local Organizing Secretary ONLY on first-come-first served basis for those participants who send prior information for it in the registration form. Charges for accommodation are to be borne by the participants as per actuals. Bangalore is host to several hotels and hostels catering to all budgets. Delegates can also make their booking on their own.
