Personal library donated to research centre
STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI, Jan 13 – The personal library of the late Dr Dhrubananda Das, IAS, former Commissioner in the Assam Govt was recently donated to the Institute of Research and Documentation of Indigenous Studies, (IRDIS) by his wife Kumi Das in a special meeting of the executive committee of IRDIS in its office premises at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra complex, stated a press release.
This personal collection of Dr Das running into thousands of books covering a wide variety of subjects including indigenous medicine, literature, social science, history and valuable manuscripts and gazetteers of the colonial era will afford access to scholars, researchers and interns at IRDIS.
It may be mentioned that Dr Das had authored several books on indigenous medicine and was a regular contributor to a number of regional and national periodicals and newspapers.
IRDIS is a centre of interdisciplinary research and documentation on Indigenous Studies working with diverse ethnic communities of Assam with collaborative outreach to other ethnic communities nationally and worldwide.

Essential Qualification
1. Degree in Library Science from a recognised University.
2. Diploma in Computer Applications of a recognised university or Institute.
3. Knowledge of Computer Operation in Library work. It includes-
(i) Knowledge and experience of working with any standard "Library Automation Software" for House Keeping activities in the library such as cataloguing, acquisition and circulation etc. and (ii) Knowledge and
experience of computerized search both of on-line and off-line databases including retrieval of desired information through various search engines/processes.
Experience
Minimum two years experience in a Library of any Government organisation/recognised Educational or Research Institution.
Age Requirement
Candidates should be below 27 years as on 1.1.2013. Usual relaxation in age will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged/Ex-S€rvicemen as per Government Rules. There will be no upper age limit for those who are already working in the Registry of Supreme Court of India. Relaxation in upper age limit upto a maximum of 5 years will be considered in case of those Government Servants who are working in posts, which are in same line/allied cadre.

2 Post of Assistant Director (Library Services) at Competition Commission of India , New Delhi
Subject: Filling up of posts in Competition Commission of India on deputation basis.
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) invites applications for filling up of various posts under Support Staff category, as mentioned below, on deputation on foreign service basis. The details of the posts along with eligibility criteria, educational qualification/experience etc. required for the posts are given in the enclosed Annexure-I.

2. The period of deputation in respect of the three posts of Deputy Director (Corporate Services) and one post (out of two posts) of Assistant Director (Library Services) will be initially for a period of three years, which can be extended upto five years. The period of deputation in respect of the second post of Assistant Director (Library Services) and the three posts of Office Manager (Corporate Services) will be initially for one year only, which may be extended further subject to requirements of the Commission. The appointment on deputation in CCI will be governed by the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training vide O.M. No.6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time. The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation basis shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application by CCI. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) reserves the right not to fill up any or all the above vacancies.
3. Apart from basic pay and grade pay, the posts carries DA, HRA and Transport Allowance etc. as per the rates applicable to the Central Government employees from time to time. Medical reimbursement is admissible as per the CCI service rules. This is in lieu of CGHS benefits which are not admissible to the employees of CCI. The CCI is an eligible office for allotment/retention of Government Accommodation from General Pool.

Coordinating the editorial, design, desktop publishing and printing processes of ICO flagship publications (e.g. Situation Analysis); and disseminating finalised publications to partners and interested stakeholders.
3. Developing knowledge networks and facilitating knowledge collaboration and cross learning
Building and facilitating knowledge management network with relevant partners (including government, civil society organizations, research institutions, library networks) to promote utilization of knowledge generated by UNICEF and maximize the existing KM tools and platforms
4. Supporting Knowledge Management Activities
Supporting the Research and Evaluation Specialist with other Knowledge Management activities as required, i.e. administering peer review group and ensuring all completed studies and surveys are submitted to the NYHQ portal.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
A minimum 2 years of proven and substantial experience in knowledge management.
Experience in developing strategy or concept note on knowledge management, use of ICT to promote knowledge management, an asset
Experience in effective use of information technology and management of collaborative website and portalsFluency in English
Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
Thorough knowledge of the key concerns and challenges facing development practitioners in India, particularly in relation to issues related to children and women
Highly effective at networking and at facilitating professional collaboration
Motivated, energetic, thorough, and responsive to the needs and interests of peers
