(1) The degree of disability should be (i) Minimum 40% in case of Orthopedically Handicapped persons, (ii) Minimum 40% in case of Hearing Impaired - sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life; do not hear, understand sounds at all even with amplified speech; hearing loss more than 60 decibels in the better ear (profound impairment) or total loss of hearing in both ears, and (iii) For Visually Handicapped candidate either of the following conditions should be fulfilled: a. Total absence of sight. b. With visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses. c. With limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse. (2) PWD candidates should possess a latest certificate to this effect issued by an authorized Government of India/ State Government Department/ Hospital. (3) PWD candidates may belong to any category (i.e. General/SC/ST/OBC). Reservation for PWD is horizontal and within the overall vacancies for the post. Qualifications : First class MLIB; One year experience in digital library. Candidates with Ph.D will be preferred. 

Desirable : Degree/Diploma in Extension/Training/Journalism. Experience in writing popular articles, press release, brochures and other extension materials. 

Age: Below 35 years for Scientist B, C and Librarian. Age limit may be relaxed in the case of internal candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC as per the State Government Rules.

Relaxation in age limit up to 5 years (up to 10 years for SC/ST) may be allowed to internal candidates for Scientist B position. Note: • The minimum requirement of 55% shall not be insisted upon for Librarian and Deputy Librarian, for the existing incumbents who are already in the University system. However, these marks should be insisted upon for those entering the system from outside and those at the entry point of Assistant Librarian. • A relaxation of 5% shall be provided at the Master's level to the SC/ST category.
